Around the Corner - Breakfast Bar
Has anyone been to the new breakfast restaurant on 6th street called "Around the Corner"? This was opened by Mark who owns the Village Butcher. We went a few weeks ago on a Saturday. The food was delicious. They were still ironing out a few details, but we really enjoyed the patio and great food.
Hopefully everyone will support this restaurant. This is exactly the type of place we want in the area.

We went last Sunday. The food is excellent. My wife and I had the banana bread french toast, which was excellent. Our 19 month old son was happy with the freshj fruit bowl. The portion sizes are really generous. Other than one other lady, we were the only people in the place. Highly recommended people - go and enjoy this treasure in our backyard.

I second that. I had the 3 cheese omlette. My wife had pan cakes with berries and my 2 year old daughter had some soft boiled egg and toast thing from the kids menu. All of it excellent.

Agree with you about the coffee refills - that should definitely be free. Coffee was excellent btw. It looked like they had a decent espresso machine set up in there too, I'll have to try something from the bar next time. Our service was relatively fast, although anything with kids is never fast enough ;)

My son and I ate there on Saturday morning last weekend and I have to say that it was really nice to have breakfast on a nice elevated patio, just off the strip away from traffic (foot and car). The food was great and healthy. The option of Dippy Eggs and Soldiers for my son was a great one, and I haven't had Eggs Florentine since the last time I lived near a Future's bakery. I am still a big fan of breakfast at the Lucky Dice for that 'anywhere in Ontario' experience, but its great to have a 'Toronto-Montreal-esque' breakfast option in the neighbourhood as well.

Good way to put it regarding the "Anywhere Ontario" vs "Toronto/Montreal" experience as compared to the "Lucky Dice - our favourite all around breakfast spot.
We are really hoping for Mark's place to work out... we were there after the "initial open" and the food was great.
(I know he has closed and retrained the staff a few times)
please keep posting how your experiences are, hopefully it remains as consistently good as Mark is trying to make it!

Finally got a chance to head to Around the Corner on Saturday and was turned away since they close at 1:30 and it happened to be 1:30. Maybe this weekend, but good to know when it closes.

Made it in yesterday morning, worth second trip there for sure! They put together a killer breakfast with fresh ingredients and a great attitude. This is one of the best breakfast places in Toronto!
There was only a couple of customers so the service and speed was great given the quality of the food. Hope they can maintain this on busy weekends.
Fantastic place.
