Local Craft/Art Market

Does anyone know if there are any plans to have a craft/art market in the mimico area? I think a great spot would be the newly renovated park beside Birds & Beans.

Have you been to Roots to Branches? I bet Anne would be interested in becoming more involved in the craft market..
Its a good time to get started on organizing because it will take some time to get going... there seems to be a few really interested people, I bet it could get pulled off for this summer.

I would love to see a craft market as well -- with ONE caveat... that vendors need to be "registered" and pay for a table - hopefully this will ensure/discourage the people who set up impromptu "garage" sales in various public spots around Mimico

Any news on a craft market?
David, if you see this, can events be held in the park yet? Do you think it would be difficult to get permission for something like a craft sale?

no news yet - there is not really an official way to get events scheduled and programmed - but it is on the way. We have formed a group to produce the opening celebration (which is going to be fantastic, by the way - see http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122350597776120&index=1 for more info - and mark your calendars for June 5) Also see the current issue of the Lakeshore Villages which should be arriving at your homes this week.

Once we've got that done, we'll see about setting up other kinds of events. Craft shows, with some kind of pre-selction process is a great idea so keep in touch here or at the Mimico-by-the-Lake BIA Facebook page.
