There hasn't been discussion here for awhile about break ins. However I heard from my neighbour at the bottom of Second Street that they were broken into in the last few days. Laptop, expensive programmes, kid's XBox.....bad enough, but also some extreme vandalism and damage. This happened during the day. an all black cat, possibly 1-2 yrs old was found on my neighbour's lawn tonight. He/she didn't appear injured, but very thin and dehydrated. He did take some water and perked up a little. Another neighbour has taken him in to try and get him drinking, eating-hopefully he'll make it. Has anyone lost a black cat? I just received this email from my neighbour, so wanted to spread it wide in case people aren't aware.......... Just wanted to pass the word around that there have been a few break-ins in our neighbourhood, around Lakeshore Drive and Fifth St.Our neighbour's home on Lakeshore Drive was broken into at 6:14 this morning, after he had left his driveway at 6:00am. Just found out through Second Street School about this seminar. It's led by a couple of the community officers. Not sure if this was widely publicized, but it's timely with our recent discussions of having a forum to discuss community safety, and I will try to attend at least some of it.
