Paul Chomik replied to Jerry's discussion Sherway Power Plant (Will affect Etobicoke Air Quality)
"Sorry.   CO2 emissions have nothing to do with the problem of smog in Toronto (or anywhere else), because it is not a component of smog in North America.   Smog in Toronto primarily comes from motor vehicles, space heating (in winter) and…"

Paul Chomik replied to Jerry's discussion Sherway Power Plant (Will affect Etobicoke Air Quality)
"The now-stopped natural gas power plant would have directly impacted local air quality - unlike the old Lakeview Generating Station which didn't due to its operating parameters.   Lakeview GS could have been upgraded to accept partial…"

"The fees never cover the increased costs of infrastructure.   Taxpayers end up subsidizing the condo towers.   There are studies of studies that conclude high-density residential never covers its impact and taxpayers pay more to make…"

"A fair assessment of the meeting and the impact of the proposed development (which is to number over 1,800 units).   The CGI mockup of the buildings was a direct representation of the buildings proposed by the developer."

DEL Property Management (TRIDEL) has been in charge of managing the Marina Del Rey Condo buildings at Park Lawn and Lake Shore Blvd. W. But the problem is that there has been a very turnover level of staff.  In the examinations for discovery of a former condo manager, she admitted that there were lots of problems with the buildings and it was a stressful job - so they ask to be transferred.  As a result, no one at the management office seems to to be up to speed with issues that remain a problem.  For example, after the plumbers flooded my unit, a new manager took over the building and did nothing to help me deal with the plumbers or call the condo's insurer and start a claim.  He was only concerned with any issues going forward.  Last week, I delivered a copy of the 1997 /98 report which identified multiple sources of water leaks, building envelope problems, and flooding of condo units.  I highlighted all the sections for them.  14 years later, they still haven't changed the defective windows.  Various contractors who have inspected my unit also think the source of water pouring through the walls is the roof!   According to the Boardwalk Beat newsletter produced by the condo corporation in July 2010 - there are NO PLANS to fix the roof for several years!  They are concentrating on the LOBBY!

Hi Paul,

My name is Mike Crisolago and I am a reporter for the Toronto Observer (www.torontoobserver.ca). I've contacted you because I am currently writing an article about the proposed LRT from Longbranch to Park Lawn and am wondering if you may have a few minutes for an interview on the issue. Whether you are for or against the LRT, the issue is clearly important to residents of the area and all voices and opinions on the topic need to be heard. If you have ten minutes to speak about the LRT issue, please feel free to email me ASAP at mike.crisolago@hotmail.com to arrange a short interview. Thank you so much Paul. I hope that we can talk soon.

Sincerely,

Mike Crisolago
