About Our Lakeshore

Resident for Residents

Our Lakeshore is a group of residents organized to work with the community, business owners and all levels of government in a business district revitalization effort. The Shop the Shore event is a perfect example of this team’s effort. To make this thing happen:
  • Residents acquired support and resources from the local BIA, municipal, provincial and federal governments.
  • Residents canvassed businesses to get their involvement.
  • Residents made sure that all of their neighbours know about the event and why its important that we support the businesses we have.

This site is another example. The only objective of this site is to provide another channel through which residents, organizations and businesses can hold the public conversation about what is going on in this area.

By organizing ourselves, we the residents can ensure that we have a voice in the progress that is made in Our Lakeshore. If you have ideas or want to join us, please email the revitalization team.

If you are interested in reading more about this group, Scott wrote a great comment response that sums up how Our Lakeshore works, and what its intentions are. Its in the comments part of a post on a survey we did on the original site. Read from the bottom up so you can see the comments that Scott's piece is responding to.

We would prefer to not have to approve new members, and we will make every attempt to approve membership requests as soon as possible.

Ning the host of this site is actively trying to combat Spam, but for now their recommendation is to… Continue

Rotary Club of Etobicoke promotes youth exchange program

The Rotary Club of Etobicoke is looking for an Etobicoke student who is interested in participating in a year-long youth exchange program for the academic year 2010-2011. At the same time, the Club will welcome a student from another country.

Each year, some 7,000 students, sponsored by Rotary Clubs around the world, travel to a different country to learn the language and the culture; they make new friends and form bonds with second families that last for years.

The Youth… Continue
