The Passing of Mark Selkirk 'a true community leader'

VIA Susan Nagy Lakeshore Arts

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Selkirk, community leader and member of Lakeshore Arts.

As many of you may know, Mark was Chair of the Brass in the Grass Committee and sat on our Board of Directors for 4 years. While a Board member, he championed the festival and our annual Gala and valued the importance of the arts in the community. He is widely known as the Moose Man as his company Merlinworks produced the fiberglass animals that graced our City and created the tulips that line Royal York during the spring.

This is a loss for South Etobicoke and we wish his family our deepest condolences.

This is sad news, while I didn't personally know Mark I saw him working at a number of community functions.  His committment to his community and neighbours was always apparent.  May his family forever hold close to the wonderful memories they have of him.  RIP Mark.

I have to second your sentiments, Susan. I was shocked to hear this news. All of Toronto has lost a great champion. Best wishes to his family and friends during this trying time.

My sympathies to Mark's wife Debbie and her family at this difficult time.
