Local Retail: The Paradox of Choice

I think this is a great video. An example I see of this, can be found in local retailers such as the Loot Lady or Alf Davis. When I go into these stores, I don't see aisles and asiles of choices, but I have an attentive retailer there to give me a small number of *solid* choices. I am always happy with what I was offered, and never worry about if I had just scanned a few more aisles.

Great video, I love those TED lectures. I agree that anything that makes it easier and faster to make a purchasing decision is better for me, but then again, I can't stand shopping in general. I can't help but play the gender stereotype card and say that many men would probably agree. Many women I know (ok, and a few guys too) would be awfully disappointed with only one brand of jeans on the shelf as going "shopping" isn't always just a means to an end, but about the experience itself. Apparently a few hours at the mall trying on clothes can actually be enjoyable to some. For others like me, it's hell, and I'd be much happier with less choice if it means I can spend my time elswhere.
